It's all in the Details

We all love things of beauty - it's surrounds us everywhere. Let's take a close up view and enjoy the details.

What is a more exquisite example of Chinoiserie than the pure, pristine, sophisticated elegance of Blanc de Chine? The color and details make these figures such lovely collectible items.

Look at this exquisite tie back. It is hand embroidered on linen. The folds in the drapery are emphasized in the urn.

The embroidery on the draperies is quite lovely! The molding on the chair complements the ivory color perfectly!

What a beautiful view from this magnificent window!

Isn't this entrance beautiful? Such an attractive pediment and transom. The curved wrought iron railing and dark door complete the look. The lanterns and autumn color certainly enhance the beauty too!

We love this door knocker from a Paris residence. What exquisite details!

Garden Gates

So many wonderful gates to choose from for your garden! Consider the size of your area, the types of plants you have and what is aesthetically pleasing to you. We've attached a sample of some of our favorites below.

Wooden gates are perfect for a rustic feel. The detail of the circular window is quite charming.

Consider painting your gate a color to coordinate with your plants. This white gate is delightful with the autumn colors.

The openness of this gate helps to expand the view.

As well as this one. Isn't it magnificent? The size of the gate helps visualize the size of the garden area.

Look how perfect this gate emphasizes the old oak tree.

What a grand entrance for this spectacular fountain!

A lovely combination of stone, wrought iron and trained greenery form this interesting entrance.

Your plantings along with a wrought iron gate can create a beautiful wall and entrance.

Don't forget the details! They add quite a touch!

Classic Black

It's been said that every room needs a touch of black. What could be more elegant? Add white and you have a bold, yet soothing color combination. Try adding just a touch of color and you get
just the excitement you want.

What a bold entrance. Doesn't the greenery perfectly enhance this color combination?

Dramatic stairways....

Does anyone recognize the staircase from the Louvre?

Window frames painted black. Imagine the room without the black. It would look entirely different.

A long hallways is not so boring with the black and white tiles.

Black kitchens can be exciting!

As well as your deck furniture in the black and white combination.

Love the blue and gold against the chevron at this place setting!

Black and white are always perfect for your gallery. Look how the pink flowers add a pop.

Ahh! Hot pink really adds the drama...

You are always in vogue when you wear black and white.

Reflections

Mirror Mirror.... so many to chose.
How do you use these looking glasses?

A beautiful sunburst mirror lights up this room and
certainly highlights the green decor!

A large gold leaf mirror creates a dramatic entrance in this home!

Look how the mirror on this wall expands the garden.

What is prettier than this reflecting pool?

An antique trumeau is gorgeous over this chest.

Such elegant closet doors.

What a lovely reflection this console creates!

And there's nothing more beautiful than
the patina of a hand held monogrammed sterling mirror!

Exciting New Fabric

We love this Chinoiserie fabric we are working with. The colors are so vibrant and the playful scenes are intriguing. Chinoiserie is so interesting - you can always find something new in the print every time you look.

We'll start our design process by finding inspiration for the colors we'd like to pull from the fabric.

The orange and pink tulips look so pretty together.
We would really like to consider the vivid pinks for a pop.

Doesn't this little mug fit perfectly with our theme?

Here are several fabrics we've decided upon to use with the chinoiserie fabric.

The agate and laquer boxes are a great find to bring out the orange and purple.

We think we've made a wonderful start!

Formal Gardens

Do you have a formal garden, have you considered one or visited one? They are so lush and green throughout the seasons, but particularly in the summer. The shapes and design elements are amazing - particularly the knot gardens! Here are a few of our favorites.

What an amazing keyhole. The arch is perfect for this view! Located in Alhambra, Spain.

Wisteria flows beautifully throughout the sculptured shapes in this garden.

Lovely color schemes are found throughout the Loire Valley.

Have you visited Versailles and seen their gardens?

Italian gardens - all different in their design.

Beautiful perspective and focal points.

Knot gardens are interesting and fun!

What a pretty Celtic knot!

A bit of whimsy for a fun stroll!
